Term 1 CCAs

Posted: August 29, 2014

Please see ATTACHED the Term 1 CCA calendar. There will be chanages made, so please check again next week for the final list. Term 1 CCAs commence 15 September 2014. Enrolment will open during the first week of September; the exact date will be announced in next week’s Explorer. Only PARENTS will have access to enrolment INCLUDING SECONDARY PARENTS. Students will only be able to view the details. All enrolment is done online through the Gateway. Please ensure your parent login name and password are correct prior enrolment.

ePayment and CCA reminder

ePayment is the method currently used for collecting funds for CCAs and Cobra sports. You must have sufficient funds in your child’s ePayment account (topped up via PPS, Internet or cheque made payable to Discovery College) by the enrolment closing date to cover ALL CCAs you’ve signed them up for in order for them to be considered/enrolled in ANY activity. Please note, if you are topping up your account via PPS or Internet, the transaction has to be made at least two business days in advance. Students with insufficient funds in their ePayment account will be removed from ALL CCAs. (For example: if your child has been signed up for 4 CCAs that cost $200 each, you must have enough funds, i.e.$800, to cover all 4 CCAs. If not, your child will not be considered for any of the 4 activities).

If you sign your child up for a CCA, you are granting him/her permission to participate in the activity AND to have money deducted from his/her ePayment account, should your child be accepted. There will be no permission forms handed out. Once the amount has been deducted, there will be no refunds, so please make sure your child is interested and able to participate in the activity.
Information about setting up and topping up your ePayment account can be found at http://www.discovery.edu.hk/cms/index.php/en/information/epayment.

Enrolment

When enrolling your child into a CCA: after logging in to Gateway and clicking Activities > Activity from the top menu bar, please remember to select your child from the drop down list near the top.

Please note: In order to allow as many students as possible to participate in a CCA, activities will be registered on a first come/first served basis, however, where activities are over-subscribed, students who are not enrolled in any other activity will be given priority over students who already have an assigned CCA. If you choose to sign your child up for more than one CCA, preferences will NOT be accounted for. It will be presumed that your child is happy to do any of the CCAs. Registering for a CCA does not mean you/your child has been accepted (when the system shows ‘Registered’ beside the activity name, it does not necessarily mean your child has been enrolled).
