Plastic Free Seas support Year 3s in ‘Sharing the Planet’

Posted: September 26, 2014

On Friday 19 September Dana Winograd from the local charity ‘Plastic Free Seas’ came to visit the Year 3 students. She was helping the students to develop their understandings of the central idea ‘human actions have an impact on the environment they inhabit’. The talk focused on the damage that is occurring to marine ecosystems by the introduction of plastics into the oceans.

She was supported by Bruce Pye, who is drawing attention to the cause and swimming 75km around Lantau Island in 5 days.

If you wish to cheer Bruce off on his EPIC endeavor, he leaves from DB’s Tai Pak Wan beach on October 29 at 7.30am.
