DP Visual Arts visit Frog King exhibition

Posted: October 16, 2014

On Day Zero, DP Visual Art students spent the day in Sheung Wan exploring the streets as part of our Culture unit. We were also lucky enough to visit Frog King’s very first commercial exhibition.

Representing HK in the 54th Venice Biennale, artist Frog King held a talk for the students and shared his philosophy towards his artwork. Frog King’s energy and spirit were evident in not only his work and exhibition space, but also in his personality displayed during his interesting Q & A session with the students and teachers.

We were very lucky to also meet Valerie Kung who curated Frog King’s exhibition. We learned about the importance of space in curating your own exhibition, which we as artists will do for our DP assessment.

The day out in Central was filled with inspiration for our current pieces and made students stop and notice the little things that make up HK’s culture.
