The 2015-16 DC Parent Information Fair will be held on Thursday 20 August 2015. Note that school will dismiss at 12 noon on this day. All DC parents are encouraged to attend the information fair, which covers all information parents will need to start the year and understand basic processes and systems they will encounter. The key purposes of the Parent Information Fair are to:
- Meet staff
- Familiarise yourself with learning programmes
- Understand systems and processes
- Have your questions answered
Included in the programme are Primary and Secondary overviews for the year, Primary year level and single subject information sessions, Secondary subject area information, opportunities to meet the Deans and Learning Advisors, Higher Education information, Community Engagement overview, and a DCPTA presentation. There will also be a range of whole school information booths covering Finance, ePayment, Communications, Nurses, IT Help Desk, Peripatetic Music Programme, CCAs, Cobra Sports, Cafeteria, DCPTA and Digital Literacies.
A new addition to the programme this year is a round table discussion on social media. This is relevant to any parent whose children access social media (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, etc). It will provide an opportunity for you to share ideas to develop our collective responsibility of promoting positive behaviours online. A copy of the day’s programme is available below.
