DC University Fair helps to educate students and families

Posted: September 24, 2015

On Wednesday 23 September, Discovery College held its annual University Fair in coordination with the British Council. Representatives from more than 125 colleges and universities from the UK, US, Australia, Canada, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Europe attended. Approximately 1,000 students passed through the fair throughout the course of the day.

All DC students in Y10-13, as well as many parents, had the opportunity to meet with these representatives and have their questions answered. In addition to the many representatives exhibiting at the fair, concurrent sessions were run on university admissions processes in Hong Kong, the UK, Canada and the U.S. University representatives provided in-depth explanations of the admissions applications, essays and other requirements, which will help students prepare for this important process.

This event was open to the entire community, and students from Island School, YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College, Discovery Bay International School, Christian Alliance International School and Guangdong Country Garden School also came to DC and gained important insights about planning for university. Discovery College is pleased to have been able to offer a programme that benefitted so many students across the region.
