Happy Lunar (Chinese) New Year

Posted: February 5, 2016

恭喜發財  /  Gong Hey Fat Choy  /  Happy 2016 Lunar New Year to all our Discovery College community.

Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, is the most spectacular annual HK holiday. The holiday celebrates the start of the New Year according to the Chinese calendar, falling across 7-13 February, according to the Gregorian calendar (unofficially celebrated for 15 days).

At Discovery College, we dress up in traditional costumes, learn stories and customs about Lunar New Year, and celebrate it in Chinese classes. Students enjoy both the process of learning and experiencing this festival.
