DC students raise awareness of world hunger and $18,000

Posted: June 10, 2016

Last month, two Y12 students, Tyra Eberwein and Lucie Cameron hosted a student sleepover at Discovery College in aid of the World Vision charity.

World Vision is an international organisation that aims to eradicate malnourishment and starvation in children all over the world. To gain a better understanding of the hardship suffered by these children, 33 secondary students and three teachers partook of the 40-Hour Famine, whereby participants went without food for 40 hours. Friends and family sponsored participants, raising over $18,000 for the charity.
