On Tuesday 19 September, the DC Cobras played in the second round of the 10-a-side Combined Schools 1st XV Rugby competition at King’s Park. The DC boys are currently sitting in a combination with DBIS/STC & RCHK which creates a strong side to compete against some of the traditional big hitters. The boys played South Island School and were in the game for the most part but SIS proved too strong in the end. The second game was against Kellett School who have been playing together for some time. The cohesion in their team was evident with their boys running off shoulders towards the try line. The DC Combined team managed two tries from organised backline play but were tired from back-to-back games. The 10-a-side competition ends next week and our boys will then go into a 15-a-side competition which looks to be an exciting opportunity for our students.
