Volunteers needed for The Big Picnic

Posted: November 3, 2017

Do you agree that we need to clean up the ocean and work towards Plastic Fee Seas for all? Do you believe the goals of KELY Support – a charity centered on  empowering Hong Kong’s young people by educating them to avoid drug and alcohol misuse? Would you like to support the work of Sunnyside Club – a Hong Kong charity for handicapped children set up and run by volunteers from Cathay Pacific?

The Big Picnic – a concert organised by the community for the community – needs your help! The event is taking place in Discovery Bay this Saturday 4 November and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us make the day a success.

Jobs include:

  • Selling wristbands (the event is free to enter, but we will be selling wristbands for $100 each to raise money for the charities; wristband holders get discounts from most of the vendors)
  • Overseeing the kids’ zone (ideally people who are parents themselves or used to working with kids)
  • Band check-in desk – this is already mostly staffed throughout the day, but we may need at least one person to help between about 3.00pm and 5.30pm

We’ll need volunteers on a shift basis from about 9.00am through until about 7.00pm. If you can spare two-three hours (or more!) please register your details here ASAP: https://goo.gl/forms/krVCpTPYCog4HhG43

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Heidi Frances on heidifrances@gmail.com or 6175 3340.

Lastly, volunteering with a friend is always more fun, so please help us spread the word! And don’t forget to stick around to enjoy the music and other fun after your shift.
