Year 11 work experience

Posted: March 16, 2018

As part of their preparations for post-MYP study, and ultimately the world of work, Year 11 students will be expected to participate in one week of Work Experience from 11-15 June 2018. We are confident that our students will gain valuable insights into working life as well as being great ambassadors for the College.

Students have completed workshops led by Ms Blomfield and Ms Jackson, the school’s Higher Education Counsellors, on CV and cover letter writing. They have also been briefed on the expectations of the College and on appropriate work place conduct. Students can find copies of the resources presented to them in these workshops on the DING! ‘Year 11 Spot’ page.

It’s been great to see that many Year 11s have been proactive in finding their placements and we encourage those who have not yet done so to continue their search in earnest. Students taking the initiative to do this is an important aspect of the work experience programme.

Parents can expect to receive an eNotice early next week which acts as a permission slip, providing further programme information and including a form for gathering work placement details.
