DC Student Selected to Represent HK in International Mathematical Olympiad in Romania

Posted: May 18, 2018

Yan Yau Cheng in Y13 has been selected to represent HK in the world finals of the International Mathematical Olympiad this summer. Currently, more than 100 countries participate. It is an annual event, with each country sending their best 6 students to compete on two consecutive days of challenging mathematics. During the competition, contestants have to solve, individually, two contest papers on two consecutive days, with three problems each day. It is fitting that Yan Yau is the first ever DC student to have been selected for this, as he has been focused on training for some time, as well as leading the school’s maths competition training for younger students.
