2019 International Competitions for Mathematics, Science, English and Writing (ICAS)

Posted: November 23, 2018

Entries are now open for the 2019 ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) competition. ICAS provides an opportunity for your child to gain a measure of their own achievement in an external testing situation. This is a voluntary competition. Your child may enter one, some or all of the competitions available to their year level. All students who choose to enter the competition receive a certificate and an individual student report indicating which questions they answered correctly and their score compared with the rest of the students tested.
Certificates are awarded for each year level as follows:

  • High Distinction to the top 1% of entrants
  • Distinction to the next 10% of entrants
  • Credit to the next 25% of entrants
  • Merit to the next 10% of entrants
  • Participation to all other participating entrants

A medal is awarded in each subject for the top score in HK in each year level. DC has a strong history with 26 previous medal winners. Last Year our winners were Eric Xin in Y5(for the second time), Hana Van De Wiel in Y11 for English (for the second time) and Rohan Lassiaz in Y5 for Science.
