Children’s friendships – why are they so complicated and changeable?

Posted: February 1, 2019

Feeling confused, worried or frustrated about your child’s ever changing friendships?  Unsure how to help them navigate these sometimes tricky relationships? Join us for our next Coffee Conversation on Thursday 14 February, 8.30-10am in the 4/F Senior Student Centre. This workshop is based on Michael Thompson’s book Best Friends Worst Enemies: Understanding the social lives of children

Together we will:

  • explore the developmental aspects of friendship and how this changes over time

  • identify the social groupings that often naturally occur in children

  • understand the dynamics that often underpin children’s conflict

  • Unpack how to best support your child with their friendships difficulties
