Tension rises in Year 5 Drama

Posted: September 8, 2014

Students in Year 5 Drama are currently inquiring into how physical theatre and movement can be used as means of expression. They are exploring the seven levels of tension that are used in drama as a way for interpreting situations. The seven levels of tension are:

1) The Jellyfish – catatonic
2) The Californian – laid back
3) Economic – neutral
4) Alert – curious
5) Reactive – suspense
6) Opera – passionate
7) Tragic – petrified

The photos show the students during their freeze frame moments, showing how they interpreted these tensions.
