Term 1 CCAs

Posted: September 8, 2014

Term 1 CCA enrolment closes on Monday 8 September at 10am.

If your child is no longer interested/available to participate in a CCA, please follow the steps below to withdraw him/her from the activity, because once you sign your child up for a CCA, you are granting him/her permission to participate in the activity AND to have money deducted from his/her ePayment account, should your child be accepted. There will be no permission forms handed out. Once the amount has been deducted, there will be no refunds, so please make sure your child is interested and able to participate in the activity.

1) When you login to the Gateway, on the top menu bar, select Activities > Activity and select your child as you normally would to enrol your child in a CCA.
2) Click the “My Activities” tab near the top.
3) Click Withdraw beside the specific CCA.
Please do this before the end of the enrolment period – Monday 8 September 10am.

Please also be reminded of the followng:
You must have sufficient funds in your child’s ePayment account (topped up via PPS, Internet or cheque made payable to Discovery College) by Monday 8 September 10am to cover ALL CCAs you’ve signed them up for in order for them to be considered/enrolled in ANY activity. Please note, if you are topping up your account via PPS or Internet, the transaction has to be made at least two business days in advance, in other words Friday 5 September at the latest. Students with insufficient funds in their ePayment account will be removed from ALL CCAs. (For example: if your child has been signed up for 4 CCAs that cost $200 each, you must have enough funds, i.e. $800, to cover all four CCAs. If not, your child will not be considered for any of the 4 activities). Information about setting up and topping up your ePayment account can be found at http://www.discovery.edu.hk/cms/index.php/en/information/epayment.

Please note: In order to allow as many students as possible to participate in a CCA, activities will be registered on a first come/first served basis, however, where activities are over-subscribed, students who are not enrolled in any other activity will be given priority over students who already have an assigned CCA. If you choose to sign your child up for more than one CCA, preferences will NOT be accounted for. It will be presumed that your child is happy to do any of the CCAs. Registering for a CCA does not mean you/your child has been accepted (when the system shows ‘Registered’ beside the activity name, it does not necessarily mean your child has been enrolled). All CCA lists will be confirmed by Friday 12 September.
