The Year 1s have been inquiring into how plants provide for living things.
They have been exploring this through a field trip to Grandpa’s Garden, walks in Siena Park and investigation of the life cycle of plants. Some skills they have been learning include how to create technical drawings of plants and ways to sort and label photographs of plant materials. Two highlights have been creating prints of plants onto fabric and planting seeds to develop a Year 1 shared garden.
The Year 1s have become knowledgeable about how plants grow, and are developing the attitudes of appreciation and curiosity through the learning engagements.
