Year 11s create beach art sculpture

Posted: January 23, 2015

As part of the Site Specific Art unit, we look into the dynamic relationship between humans and their environment.

One of the artists the Year 11 Visual Arts students have researched is Andy Goldsworthy, a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist producing site-specific sculpture and land art situated in natural and urban settings. To experience Andy’s concept, the students visit the beach next to the North Plaza to create some amazing natural art installations. There are no limits on materials used, as students are able to use what they find on the beach to create art sculptures that relate to the site.
