The season kicked off this week and the Cobras badminton teams had many successes.
The U12 boys team played their first two matches against the highly rated Canadian International School winning 3-2 in the first round and 3-1 in the second round.
Our U12 girls also played Canadian International School winning 3 games straight in their match.
The U14 boys played two matches against International Schools Foundation Academy winning 3 straight games, but going down to International Christian School 22-20 in the 5th and very hard fought game.
The U14 girls were victorious over Chinese international School 3-1 but had harder matches against International Christian School (going down 2-3) and Singapore International School (0-3).
The U16 girls played Harrow and International Christian School on their first outing on Wednesday. For both games, we lost the first single, and then caught up in the next three matches to triumph 3-1. All girls played to the best of their ability. Shirley faced a relatively strong opponent in the second singles against both schools, but played steadily and eventually won both of the matches after analysing the opponent and identifying their weakness. It was good to see skills and brains working together. Special thanks to Yion for playing up at short notice.
The U16 boys went down in an epic battle with Harrow 0-3 but turned the tables with Concordia by winning 3-0.
