Students continue chess success

Our DC Chess players continue to bring home outstanding results both individually and as a DC team.

On 22 March, four teams participated in the Hong Kong Chess Federation Interschool competition.

  • Secondary Team (Richard Takasumi, Bryant Chong, Samira Salwan, Carlo Chow) ended 12th with Richard and Carlo scoring 5 and 4.5 out of 7 as a very good individual score.
  • Upper Primary Team A (Miguel Angel Garceran Wang, Mei Jing Garceran Wang, Chor Wei Tang, Koza Kurumlu) ended 4th with all players receiving a medal for this team result. Furthermore Miguel Angel received a 3rd Prize medal for 1st board player and Mei Jing collected 2nd Prize for 2nd board player and the 1st Prize for best girl.
  • Upper Primary Team B (Aslin Fung, Kaya Heathman, Justin Fung) with player short ended 23rd.
  • Lower Primary (Disco Knights) Team (James Gui, Noah Chang, Kian Heathman, Nathan Chang) ended 5th and Noah with 5 points received an individual 3rd prize medal for board 2.

On 29 March, one DC team competed in the Chess Juniors inter-school competition. The Lower Primary Team including James Gui, Seth Peramunetilleke, Noah Chang, Nathan Chang ended 5th out of 23 teams and won a prize for the school. Noah scored the full 7 out of 7 and also got 1st prize board 3.
