Students compete in Battle of the Books

Posted: May 8, 2015

Students across the school have been busy competing in their Battle of the Books semi-finals this week. Students in Years 5 & 6 entered the Primary Battle of the Books Competition yesterday at Shatin Junior School. Students read a wide selection of books and were asked  twelve questions in each round. With only 20 seconds to answer a question it was quite nail-biting at times.  We did not make it through to the finals but the competition was fierce and the final results were very close.  Congratulations to a strong team – you did DC proud.

Students in Secondary headed to the French International School  for their semi-final heat. In a similar format, students competed against four other schools and also performed very well. Again, the competition was close and we were knocked out.

The Battle of the Books Primary CCA was run by Ms Kylie Harrison and Mrs Leanne Sercombe, and by Ms Ophelia Bou and Mrs Maura Corcoran in Secondary.

Congratulations to strong teams – you did DC proud!
