On Thursday 22 May, the Y4 students held their Celebration of Learning about their unit on body systems. It was a fantastic day with parents partnering up with children to learn about the different body systems and how they can be kept healthy. The students prepared brochures detailing a particular body system, and they also created an experiment or demonstration to show how the system worked. Students spent the morning discussing with parents the function of organs and their connections to other systems of the body, while also cajoling parents to take part in blind taste tests, to touch chicken bones that had been kept in vinegar, and to experiment with how different emotions affect heart rate. Perhaps most enjoyable for the students was seeing their parents participate in different exercise circuits, which the students developed themselves.
Thank you to all the parents who came and so happily engaged with all of our students at this celebration of learning.
