The Cobra U12 girls badminton team has moved to being within a whisker of equal top place after beating the favourites, Renaissance College, on Tuesday in their only match this week. After narrowly going down to Renaissance in the first round they had an epic battle winning two games in deuce including one 27:25. Our U12 boys had a great start against Singapore International School winning the first two games, but were unable to hang on with the final result 2:3 in Singapore’s favour. Their second game was against the very strong Renaissance College where they tried valiantly finally going down 1:3.
The U14 boys dominated in both their matches against ISF Academy and International Christian School with resounding wins of 3:0 in both cases. This puts them in a solid position in the middle of the competition to make the final 4. The U14 girls came close in their matches Victoria Shanghai Academy and Singapore International School but ultimately went down in very close games.
There were no games for U16s and U20s this week.
