Around DB Sock Design Competition 2016 with Eureka Socks

The Around DB Sock Design Competition 2016 with Eureka Socks is now open. All primary school students studying in DB are eligible to enter. The deadline for design submission to each school is Monday 19 September. After the winning designs are chosen, via an online vote on the Around DB Facebook page (3-6 October), they will become part of the all-new, healthy and fun Eureka Socks’ range.

The rules

  • All primary school students attending a DB school are eligible to enter
  • The design needs to fit a crew sock (template provided)
  • Designs should be submitted digitally where possible
  • Designs should be uncomplicated though creative, with a maximum of five colours used
  • The theme is World Animal Day (4 October) 

Timeline

10 September:  The competition is announced via:

  • Around DB Facebook page
  • DB Mums Facebook page
  • DB Mamas Facebook page
  • Newsletters of the participating schools

19 September:  Students submit their sock design to the DCPTA shop if the students attend Discovery College

20 September:  Each school chooses one winner and communicates his/ her name to Around DB

3 October, 8am:  The winning designs from each school are posted on the Around DB Facebook page for readers to vote online

6 October, 6pm:  Online voting ends

7 October:  The results (the name of the winner and two runners-up) are posted on the Around DB Facebook page

10-15 October: The winning designs are adjusted by the team at Eureka Socks (the name of the kid designer and the school will be knitted on the socks)

November to December: The socks are produced

While the top three competition winners will see their designs merchandised by Eureka Socks, all other finalists (and their designs) will be featured both on the Around DB Facebook page and in the magazine.

A note about Eureka Socks
