Calling all students, enter DC’s 2016 annual photography competition and have a chance to win great prizes.
There are three age categories: Junior (Y1-5), Middle (Y6-9), Senior (Y10-13). The theme is ‘People & Places’ and the judges will be looking for striking digital images of people and/or places you have seen, here in HK or anywhere in the world.
To enter: Email a high definition (greater than 300 dpi/8 mega pixels) jpeg image of your photograph to photo.comp@admin.dc.edu.hk. Only one photo entry is allowed per person.
The following information must be included with the file: Your name and year group, the title you have given your photo, the location and the date/month on which the photo was taken. Eg: my_name_Y9_HK_Sunset_ Sept_2016. Your entry must be your own original work from this calendar year and must not have been previously published elsewhere.
Closing date: Monday 7 November 2016, 2.30pm.
How to take your best shot: Think about composition. What is the focus of your photo? Is the subject lit well? What message or emotion are you trying to communicate? Google ‘guidelines for good photos’ to get you thinking how you can capture outstanding images. Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up – what a great opportunity to take fascinating photos.
