The fight against fake news continues. This week, our MYP/DP Teacher Librarian, Maura Corcoran, has been teaching Y9 Individuals & Societies students how to think critically about the information they consume. As an introduction to their political systems unit, students have been looking at the different types of fake and misleading news, exploring some of the big headlines from recent times and discovering how best to evaluate information for reliability. Students are being equipped with a range of news literacy skills to enable them to distinguish fact from fiction including investigating the source, considering bias, reading widely and more.
