Y9 Drama students in Mrs Veilleux’s class have been working to create their own theatre pieces in Verbatim style. Verbatim Theatre is a form of documented theatre in which plays are constructed from the precise words spoken by people interviewed about a particular event or topic. The students have chosen issues relevant to their age and/or the school community and have spent time researching these issues online, as well as conducting interviews with peers. The pieces of theatre they have created are constructed by them, directed by them and spoken by them yet use only the words of others.
Students will be performing to an open audience on Wednesday 24 May and on Friday 26 May at lunchtimes, starting at 1.35pm in the Black Box Studio.
