Suspected absence email to parents

Posted: August 25, 2017

We wish to alert parents as early as possible if a student is showing as a ‘suspected absence’ in our automated system. This can be caused by a number of factors, including when a student does not swipe their card. In this case there may a problem with their swipe card, or they have not taken the opportunity to sign in if they have forgotten their swipe card.

At the same time as parents are alerted, so too are the relevant students, and they are asked to go to the Front Office immediately to show they are in school AND asked to email their parents. If you are receiving the email on a regular basis this would indicate a problem with the swipe card. This can be easily rectified by it being given in at the Front Office. There is no charge for a replacement card in these circumstances.
