DC Student and Alumni Complete Inca Trail Marathon

Posted: September 15, 2017

DC Y12 Student Kevin Xin and his brother, DC alumn Michael Xin, recently completed the official Inca Trail Marathon within 13 hours to finish at Machu Picchu. The race was ranked by Runner’s World in 2004 as the Most Difficult Marathon in the world, with accumulated elevation of over 3,000 meters, and two mountain passes over 4,200 meters high, with a starting elevation at 2,600 meters – a gruelling effort not only for the actual kilometres run, but for the vertical distance covered. Michael pushed Kevin to finish at 12 hours 42 minutes, as the youngest runners this year. The race results can be found HERECongratulations on a terrific effort.
