Representing the DB Daruma Judo Club, Y5 student Noah Mathiesen took part in the Junior Judo Team Championships held on 27 August. After a delay from the typhoon, his team didn’t start their fights until 8pm. It was an extremely tough competition for the team of five, as most of the members were pretty tired before their fight. Out of 14 teams in the Primary category Noah and his team got through four exciting rounds to make it to the final during this knockout competition. As the lightest weight team in the category, they were able to defeat other teams with some members double of their weight. Around 10pm Noah and his team took the three wins out of five in the final to take the championship. Well done Noah.
