It was a busy week for the U14 Girls Football team as they played their fifth and sixth matches, Tuesday against CIS and Wednesday against AISHK. While there were many shots from the DC team against CIS, we only managed to score one goal. The low scoring match was mainly due to the skills of CIS’s goalkeeper (final score 1-0).
In the first half of the match against AISHK, we were down 0-1. This was the first goal that our defence let in during all six matches! We managed to come back 3-1 within the same half and then scored another three in the second half to make it 6-1. A special mention to Georgia Rivers, Y9 who scored a hat-trick and Norah den Boogert, Y8 (our goal keeper) who made a couple of excellent one-to-one saves. With two matches left, it seems likely that we will qualify for the final on 2 November.
