Dragon Boating is a great HK tradition and each year the DC PTA fields one or more boats in the Discovery Bay Dragon Boat Race held in June. Last year we also entered a team in HKand China Dragon Boat Association’s Inter-Schools Competition – and won the silver cup!
This year we are entering two Dragon Boats into 3 separate races throughout the season. Entry is open students of DC, friends and family over the age of 14 years as of 1 March 2018. We especially welcome parents and other interested adults to join this fun, community event. Dragon boating is a great way to have fun, get fit, and experience this unique festival. No experience is necessary as all training is provided.
Strength training for students is on Wednesdays or Thursdays after school at DC, and paddling training for students and adults is on Saturday mornings at DB Tai Pak Beach. Training runs from February to June 2018.
