Last weekend, a group of 30 DC student representatives from Junior Model United Nations (JrMUN) went to a stunning two-day Victoria Shanghai Academy conference. JrMUN is an incredibly amazing initiative which helps students debate against other student delegations across HK. At the conference, delegates were required to communicate, contribute and connect with several delegations; spreading opinions and creating resolutions for worldwide problems and conflicts. Each delegation is put into different committees, each requiring you to create an opening speech, position paper and a resolution based on your country’s opinion on the topic then eventually giving amendments to resolutions. Ultimately these conferences fully develop a student’s interdisciplinary and interpersonal skills; vital for everyday communication.
DC would like to congratulate two outstanding delegates; Antoine Au Yeung and Ethan Cheng as the Delegation of Venezuela, for winning the award for most improved delegate(s). In the end, it was a spectacularly unbelievable experience for all delegates. JrMUN thanks VSA for giving such an amazing experience! “The delegation of Discovery College yields the floor back to the chair.”
