The DC Gawad Kalinga club, a group of students aiming to support the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt event for students in Years 1-4. This event will take place on Friday 23 March in the foreshore and playground from 3.30 to 5.00pm. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be fun games and food booths including face painting, ring toss, and egg decorating. Participating students will be separated into time slots based on year groups. Students will get a chance to win a grand prize for the ring toss game as well as find small surprises inside each egg. The Easter Egg Hunt will raise money that will go towards aiding the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation.
The Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation is a non-governmental organisation in the Philippines. It aims to build a nation empowered by people with faith and patriotism; a nation made up of caring and sharing communities, dedicated to eradicate poverty and restore human dignity. The foundation engages in house building, environmental enrichment, educating individuals and communities about poverty, developing enabling living environments and building communities.
Students will have the opportunity to buy tickets worth $20 in the foyer from Thursday 15 March to Friday 23 March, before and after school as well as during the event. This event is open to all children aged 5 to 8 (not only DC students).
