DC Cobras strikes and checkmates again!

Congratulations to the DC Upper Primary Chess Team for coming First Runner up at the Hong Kong Chess Federation Inter-school Tournament held at St Benedict’s School last Sunday. The competition was tough this year with 38 teams competing for the top spots. The DC Cobras A Team (Seth Peramunetilleke, Mahir Uppal, Savin Peramunetilleke, Noah Michishita) secured their victory by winning 5 out of 7 rounds. Individual winners were Mahir Uppal, Champion Board 2 (7 out of 7 games) and Noah Michishita, First Runner up Board 4 (6 out of 7 games).

The DC Cobras B Team (Noah Chang, James Gui, Nathan Chang, Adrian Fan) and the Lower Primary DC Knights (Parth Sane, Rahul Peramunetilleke, Angus Ho, Aryan Shankar) both won two games and drew two games out of their seven rounds. Nathan performed best in Team B with 3.5 points while Aryan was best in Lower Primary with 4.5 points.

Thank you to all the parents, especially Anu Peramunetilleke, for your support and encouragement. Great effort by everyone and well done to the teams!

“Keeping moving forward”
