A reminder for parents and students, in regards to guidelines for hair and jewellery at Discovery College as explained in the Parent & Student Handbook page 51 & 52,
- Hair on or below the shoulders must be tied back. Hair must be of a natural colour and extreme hairstyles are not permitted.
- The only jewellery permitted is a wristwatch and one pair of SMALL stud earrings, one in the lobe of each ear. No other visible body piercing is allowed. Exemption for religious reasons will be considered on a case by case basis. Parents should write a letter or email the school (Head of Primary or Head of Secondary) requesting such consideration. Any exempted jewellery must not be visible and must be removed for PE, sport and other activities where they could potentially be a hazard. The school is not responsible for the loss of these items.
Please note: that these guidelines are applicable to both male and female students, and are in place to ensure student safety and support learning within and out of the classroom across the school. We thank parents in anticipation of their support of these guidelines.
