This week we had the privilege of hosting Prof Lea Waters, a psychologist, academic, author and speaker in Positive Parenting, Positive Education and Positive Organisation. Through Lea’s presentation on Tuesday evening on Strength Switch, Lea challenged us all to develop a strengths based approach whereby we see the inherent strengths in our children, seek to develop these and then draw on these strengths to support and challenge our children when needed. To find out more visit this website HERE. If you would like to purchase Lea’s book, we have some for sale in the Primary office for HK$195.
The following evening, Lea shared the Visible Wellbeing Framework with DC parents. Visible Wellbeing is an approach to identifying, supporting and developing wellbeing in our students through strengths, emotional management, attention and awareness, relationships, coping, and habits and goals. Examples of good practice from DC were shared and tools given to parents to help support Visible Wellbeing in their homes. If you would like to learn more about Visible Wellbeing visit this website HERE.
