Year 10 to 13 Drama Students in a Pre-performance Workshop by HKYF

On Monday 11 February, Y10-13 drama students participated in a pre-performance workshop led by the Young Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKYF) in preparation for their upcoming trip to see ‘Touching the Void’.
“This workshop was a great experience to really understand the performance that we will soon be watching. The teachers that came in, created a set, gave us a rundown of the scene and let us run wild. It was interesting to find out everybody’s opinion on the controversial topic/theme of this story. This dictated a lot of the critical parts of the story. This workshop not only gave me an idea of the performance but got me thinking about what I would do when someone’s life depended on my actions.” – Ann-Marie Whiley, Y10
Students will attend the play, based on the true story and book by Joe Simpson next Thursday 21 February 2019 at Hong Kong City Hall. This will be the first of seven HK Arts Festival performances we have arranged for students to see.
