On Wednesday 20 March 2019, a group of Y12 Visual Arts students travelled to RCHK, Island School, KGV and West Island School to view their IB Visual Arts exhibitions. The trip was incredibly beneficial. DC students had discussions around the four exhibitions they visited and conversations on the bus rides between the shows were a great teaching experience. Students discussed pieces, curatorial practices and decisions by the artists on display. They explored how the space was set up, use of lights, descriptions/texts and how DC could improve its own exhibition. It was wonderful for students and teachers to see other students’ work. The different techniques, approaches and concepts were fantastic.
