As we come to the end of a very unusual term, I wanted to write to say thank you to everyone in our community. This challenging situation has called upon all of us to go above and beyond the call of duty in all sorts of ways, and the DC community has shown its togetherness and its tireless support for student learning through the incredible work of students, parents and staff. While none of us would ever have wished for the scenario we are currently facing, it is at times like these that the qualities and strengths of a community shine through.
Term 3 will commence on Monday 20 April 2020, and at this point it is clear that class suspension will remain in place at this time. Therefore, parents in Primary will be sent learning information about the first week back on Friday 17 April, and scheduled online learning for students in Years 1 to 12 will begin again on the morning of Monday 20 April. Specific arrangements for Year 13 will continue to be communicated directly by members of the Secondary Leadership Team. The indication from the EDB is that schools are likely to be given a three-week notice of the resumption of any or all classes – naturally we are all hoping that the situation allows for class resumption as soon as possible during Term 3 and we will notify our community as soon as any further information on this is available.
The school holidays always play an important role in allowing everyone in the community to recuperate and get ready for the next term. This year that role is especially important and I hope you are all able to find opportunities for rest, enjoyment and time spent with family.
