You will be aware that the government has introduced a student grant scheme to assist families at this time. You can view previous communications on this here.
Having originally been launched in January, as per previous ESF communications, all ESF schools extended the requested deadline for submission of the relevant documentation to 20 March 2020 in order to allow as many families as possible to participate. Once this deadline passed, the forms were quickly collated and issued to the EDB. From there the EDB handles processing and so the timescale is not able to be determined by DC or ESF. However, when the scheme was first communicated the EDB wrote to DC to indicate that disbursement would commence “about six weeks after receiving the applications”. This timescale would suggest early to mid May for disbursement, depending of course on any impact of the current Covid-19 situation on EDB processing time.
Any parent wishing to apply for the grant who was not able to send in their documentation by the original requested deadline should still proceed to send their documentation to the school by post as soon as possible. DC will continue to submit batches of applications received during the course of this academic year.
