DC Students on a Climate Action Mission

Posted: August 14, 2020

Over the last few months, two dedicated Primary students, Dhaanya Ganeriwal in Y5 and her sister Reaha Ganeriwal in Y3 have participated in several ‘actions’ to support their ‘My Green Mantra’ Climate Action mission.

These include:

  • Visiting the plaza every Friday, except in recent weeks due to social grouping restrictions, and talking/educating people about climate change, SDG goals, and etc. They have created interactive games to support this process.
  • Recently they hosted their own community zoom meeting with adults/children involved in the DB Green Action group to discuss some ideas for moving forward, and from this have created/published an action plan for change.
  • 3-4 times each week they have been participating in beach cleans during the heat of the summer, and most recently there has been a ‘plastic crumb’ wash up onto our local beaches which they have been frequently supporting the clean up of.

A big shout out to Dhaanya and Reaha who are showing outstanding responsibilities in this community. Have a read of the action plan the girls have proposed HERE. Together, we can change our future.
