Peripatetic Music Programme – Enrolment opens Tuesday

Posted: August 21, 2020

Learning a musical instrument has so many benefits to a student’s development, but most importantly it is a fun and social experience that we can all enjoy. We are very excited to announce that the peripatetic music programme will commence on Monday 14 September 2020.

Our Term 1 peripatetic music programme enrolment will open on Tuesday 25 August 2020 at 10am and close on Wednesday 9 September 2020 at 11pm. Timetables will be confirmed on or before Friday 11 September 2020, announced via the Explorer and the App.

Lessons will be running ONLINE until students are allowed back to the campus on a FULL day schedule. This is for students from Year 2 and above.

DC offers quality instrument lessons from highly experienced peripatetic music tutors. Our tutors are not only highly experienced tutors but also professional musicians in Hong Kong. They are outside providers who conduct private lessons independent of curriculum classes. Our tutors offer lessons on a range of instruments including woodwind, brass, strings, guitar, piano, voice and drum kit. Please click HERE to find more information about this program and click HERE to know more about our music tutors.

Please understand the musical fees have been frozen since 2013-14 academic year and in order to keep up with the inflation rates in Hong Kong, we have adjusted the rates starting from this term.

Lessons are divided into 30 minute or 1 hour sessions, the cost of each lesson is as per below. There are 10 lessons in total for Term 1.

  • 30 minute individual – $355/lesson
  • 30 minute pair (only offered for electric/acoustic guitar) – $225/lesson
  • 1 hour individual – $710/lesson

To promote the instruction of brass, strings and selected woodwind instruments, DC hires these specific instruments free of charge to students who participate in the peripatetic music programme. Applications to check out these instruments will be based on the order in which applications are submitted to College Reception and the suitability of instruments to students.
