With sign-up well underway for Three-Way Conferences on Thursday 4 February 2021, we want to draw your attention to a couple of key pieces of information:
- Our dynamic team of Educational Assistants and Specialist teachers will support both the morning check-ins and afternoon check-outs on Thursday 4 February. If your child’s Three-Way Conference conflicts with part of either session, the priority is for your child to attend the Three-Way Conference and join the Zoom sessions either before or after they finish.
- Regularly scheduled live Zoom sessions for Specialists subjects (PE, Music, Drama and Visual Arts) will still take place on Thursday 4 February 2021.
The interactive and practical nature of the delivery of specialist lessons makes a virtual Three-Way Conference setting a challenge. We want to provide an opportunity for you and your child to feedback while also providing you with an overview of current and ongoing learning provision in our specialist areas of PE, Music, Drama and Visual Arts.
In order to do this, please feel free to take a few moments to complete the survey here. This survey is intended to gather your feedback on how your child is getting on with their specialist subject areas, to ask questions about curriculum provision and to enable you to get in direct contact with our specialist team, if needed.
In addition to the survey, specialist teachers will be posting videos on the Parent Engagement Website the week of 4 February to give you as parents an overview of the learning that is taking place and that is going to take place.
We hope these two forums will provide you with a deeper understanding of specialist provision at Discovery College while also providing a chance for your perspective to be shared.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for some of the communication we’ve received this week. We’ve had some excellent perspective sharing over the course of this week from teachers, students and, of course, you as parents. We have appreciated the communications that remember positive intent.
We are actively bringing these perspectives together to figure out how we can work smarter and remove the challenges that keep popping up. We hope to have more to share in the coming weeks as we approach Chinese New Year.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend – it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful one.
