Peripatetic Music Programme – Enrolment opens Monday 23 August

Posted: August 20, 2021

Learning a musical instrument has so many benefits to a student’s development, but most importantly it is a fun and social experience that we can all enjoy. We are very excited to announce that the peripatetic music programme will commence on Monday 13 September 2021, back in person, for all instruments except woodwind and brass. These will be running online using Zoom until further notice.

Our Term 1 peripatetic music programme enrolment will open on Monday 23 August 2021 at 10am and close on Friday 3 September 2021 at 11.59pm. Timetables will be confirmed on or before Friday 10 September 2021, announced via our weekly Explorer on Friday, Ding! and the ESF App.

This is only for students from Year 2 and above. Year 1 students will be able to join from Term 2 onwards.

DC offers quality instrument lessons from highly experienced peripatetic music tutors. Our tutors are not only highly experienced tutors but also professional musicians in Hong Kong. They are outside providers who conduct private lessons independent of curriculum classes. Our tutors offer lessons on a range of instruments including woodwind, brass, strings, guitar, piano, voice and drum kit. Please click HERE to find more information about this program and click HERE to know more about our music tutors.

Lessons are divided into 30 minute or 1 hour sessions, the cost of each lesson is as per below. There are 11 lessons in total for Term 1.

• 30 minute individual – $355/lesson
• 30 minute pair (only offered for electric/acoustic guitar) – $225/lesson
• 1 hour individual – $710/lesson

Starting from this year, all cheques will be made out to the tutors, not DCPTA. We will be collecting the cheques on the tutors’ behalf.

To promote the instruction of brass, strings and selected woodwind instruments, DC hires these specific instruments free of charge to students who participate in the peripatetic music programme. Applications to check out these instruments will be based on the order in which applications are submitted to College Reception and the suitability of instruments to students.
