For students in Years 1 to 3 we have several online resources that can support reading and inquiry at home.
All resources can be accessed via Ding! > Library> PYP Resources
- Tumblebooks Library has books for Primary students of all ages, some of which can be listened to by clicking the read aloud tab.
- We also use Big Universe which has a good collection of reading books that can be filtered by reading level, age and language and topic. Students will need their Ding! username and password to enter the site along with the group username: dcschool
- Scholastic BOOKFLIX matches a fiction and non-fiction pair of books and has read aloud options.
- PebbleGo is also a read aloud database to support non-fiction reading and can be used to support units of inquiry in schools. There are several categories of materials such as science and nature. This is an easy to use site that is well liked in Primary. PebbleGo Next increases in reading difficulty and depth of concepts but still has the read aloud option available.
