Music Programme – Enrolment opens Wednesday 1 December

Posted: November 26, 2021

Learning a musical instrument has so many benefits to a student’s development, but most importantly it is a fun and social experience that we can all enjoy. Our Term 2&3 combined peripatetic music programme enrolment will open on Wednesday 1 December 2021 at 10am and close on Wednesday 15 December 2021 at 11.59pm. Timetables will be confirmed on or before Monday 3 January 2021, announced via the Explorer and the App. All enrolment is done online by parents through Gateway. Music lessons will run continuously from Term 2 to 3, commencing on Monday 10 January and ending on Friday 10 June 2022.

DC offers quality instrument lessons from highly experienced peripatetic music tutors. Our tutors are not only highly experienced tutors but also professional musicians in Hong Kong. They are outside providers who conduct private lessons independent of curriculum classes. Our tutors offer lessons on a range of instruments including woodwind, brass, strings, guitar, piano, voice and drum kit.  Please note Lessons will be running IN PERSON for all instruments except woodwind and brass. Woodwind and brass will be running ONLINE until further notice. Please click HERE to find more information about this program and click HERE to know more about our music tutors.

Lessons are divided into 30 minute or 1 hour sessions, the cost of each lesson is as per below. There are 17 lessons in total for Term 2&3.

  • 30 minute individual – $355/lesson ($6,035Term)
  • 30 minute pair (only offered for electric/acoustic guitar) – $225/lesson ($3,825 Term)
  • 1 hour individual – $710/lesson ($12,070Term)

Starting from this year, all cheques will be made payable directly to the tutors, not DCPTA. We will be collecting the cheques on the tutors’ behalf.

To promote the instruction of brass, strings and selected woodwind instruments, DC hires these specific instruments free of charge to students who participate in the peripatetic music programme. Applications to check out these instruments will be based on the order in which applications are submitted to College Reception and the suitability of instruments to students.
