This week has been a special week where we have been able to celebrate the amazing progress that Secondary students continue to make at Discovery College. Throughout this week we have been holding year level celebrations to recognise the wonderful achievements of the students.
Despite the challenges of the current times, we have an incredible 181 students who qualified for the Academic Excellence awards based on their Semester 2 grades. This includes 13 students who achieved the maximum points score for their courses, an amazing achievement. It was also great to see that 41 students achieved the accolade for academic growth, based on their improvement of grades across a range of subjects from Semester 1 to Semester 2.
We also recognised the achievements of students across a range of aspects of learning. These include awards for contributions to Arts, Sports and Community Engagement/CAS. Furthermore, a number of students gained recognition for their Leadership and for Embodying the Values of Discovery College.
Whilst not every student received an award, it is clear that all students have made excellent progress in many aspects of their learning. A key to this progress is the notion of ‘Even Better If…’ which is at the centre of our approach to education. We are proud of all of our students with their commitment, determination and ongoing thirst for learning being evident in everything they do.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all staff at Discovery College for their expertise, professionalism and tireless efforts to provide the best support and opportunities possible for all of our students.
Have a wonderful summer ahead and we look forward to reconnecting at the start of next academic year.
Best wishes
