Primary Update

Posted: September 9, 2022

Dear parents and carers

This week’s spotlight is on our wonderful Year 2 students. Year 2 in Discovery College is part of Early Years, therefore, learning is often play-based and filled with choices to build independence and engage curious minds. Activities are set with a specific purpose, to be challenging, to develop skills and create a love for learning.

A note from Mrs Klatt, Team Leader for Year 2

The teachers have been so proud of the Year 2 students for demonstrating their character strengths of kindness, self-regulation, and teamwork to ensure our community flourishes and grows 2-gether.

We look forward to a wonderful year ahead where the children dream big, set their hopes high, and believe in their amazing capabilities.

Year 2 joined me and all their teachers last week for their welcome assembly. They learned about some up-and-coming opportunities in Primary and listened to a rather funny story, which they thoroughly enjoyed. I was proud of how they conducted themselves in assembly and would love for you to join me in praising them for their manners and attitude. Well done Year 2!

In other news, our Year 6 assembly this week ended with some Primary Excellence Awards for students’ efforts towards their learning, developing their character strengths, and progression in the learner profile. Please join me in congratulating the below students:

  1. 6MWS – Kai Zhi Tang
  2. 6LFR – Luca Wang
  3. 6ECN – Krish Mahtani
  4. 6MSD – Kairav Singh

Additionally, Rishaan Gupta and Georgia Herbert-Smith contributed to our Year 6 assembly by showcasing their fabulous talents, playing the piano and the flute. A big thank you to them!

We have incredible students in Discovery College, I can’t wait to see more of what they can achieve. We hope you have a fantastic weekend with your children.
