Primary update

Posted: January 20, 2023

Dear parents and carers

This week has been jam packed with wonderful events. Thank you to everyone who came to our coffee morning this week. It was great to see Primary so well represented. I truly hope all those who attended had a great time connecting with other parents and the Discovery College Leadership Team. We also hosted an open day for new/prospective parents which was a huge success, and we look forward to welcoming those new families to the Discovery College community in the future.

On Wednesday evening, our music department provided an opportunity for some of our talented students to showcase their passions. It was certainly an evening to remember. The talent on show was incredible. The students involved in this were fantastic. Thank you to all who came along to support our students.

Year 4 has been creating some wonderful collaborative moments during this week as they inquire into migration. Take a look at some captured moments below:

On Thursday, Year 5 took a trip to the Wetlands park in Tin Shui Wai. We spent time viewing wildlife, listening to curious questions and taking in all of the nature around us. Our students expressed their gratitude for the trip and it was a pleasure to see them learning outdoors. A snapshot of the day can be found below:

It has been a pleasure to welcome parents in the morning who drop their children to their classrooms – I certainly know our students love it too.

Finally, as Chinese New Year is rapidly approaching, I wish you all good fortune and happiness in the year of the Rabbit. Gong hei fat choy. I hope you have a great week with your family wherever your travels take you. School resumes on Monday 30 January and Primary Three-Way Conferences will be on Thursday 9 February. Please refer to my app message where detailed information regarding Three-Way Conferences can be found.

I look forward to seeing your children after the break.

Best wishes,

Mrs Cathrae
Head of Primary
