Parenting in the Digital Era
As technology is an integral part to education and our students’ daily lives, we see this as an opportunity for all students to become principled digital citizens.
Many of our Primary pupils will be taking their first steps into their independent journey with aspects of technology. As such, we would like to invite all Primary parents to a parent information morning on Tuesday 7 February at 8.30-9.30am in the DC Theatre.
Further to this, we will also run a session for Secondary parents on Thursday 9 February at 8.30-9.30am in the DC Theatre.
During both information sessions, we will be covering the following topics with content being adjusted to meet the developmental ages and stages of your child(ren):
- Education for students – the ESF Digital Citizenship framework being implemented at DC and how we educate students about safe and appropriate use of technology
- Education for parents – your role and how you can support your child beyond the classroom
- The school’s technology ‘User Agreement’
We would love to see as many parents as possible attend and strongly encourage at least one parent from each family to be present. There will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions at the end of the presentation. A link for registration will be shared via app message after the Chinese New Year break. For now, please save the date. We look forward to seeing you there.
